Photos: Concrete jungle around Guiyang Empark Palace Hotel

Photos: View from the Guiyang Empark Hotel

The Empark Palace Hotel is grand and very large, with huge rooms that feature (deliberately) sunken bathtubs set in (mock-?)marble.  The hotel’s about a 20-minute taxi ride from the city centre.  At the beginning of 2010, it was surrounded by empty blocks of flats, which have now been filled with residents, presumably who have been moved out of an area being reconstructed.  There are a few shops in the area, a few OK street restaurants and lots of construction work.
